Starting last Saturday (the 28th), Brian and I have been making huge changes in the house in preparation for Melanie's arrival. We (well, Brian mostly) cleaned out the shed, the attic, the garage room, the baby room, the man-den (Brian's videogame room) and the bedroom. We've also done a deep cleaning on the living room, kitchen and bathrooms. So every room in our house has been purged! Before we started, we were busting at the seams with what turned out to be sheer junk. I'm telling you - we had at least 20 full-size garbage bins toppled over with trash!
Now we have a clean house, that still smells like PineSol. We have a practially empty attic, a dust-free garage (storage) room, and a baby room which is mostly-painted (I need to do the trim and detail work this weekend).
I'd like to state for the record how awesome Brian is. If it were up to me, we wouldn't have taken on this project. But he woke up every morning with a goal for the day, and pressed on until it was completed. As much as I wanted and tried to help, he did most of the heavy lifting and dirty work. And I'm sure I irritated him with my many "I gotta sit down" breaks, but he didn't once complain. And I know this is going to shock you all - but we spent six whole days together doing manual labor and we didn't argue once! I got a great husband, friend and partner, don't I?

I'm not saying this because he's my son but it sounds like you got an excellent husband, friend, partner. Sounds like he's really getting into and being ready to be a daddy and this is wonderful!

ReplyDeleteI am not surprised by any of what you told me. We all know how hard working Brian is! What we are really getting a taste of is how excited he is getting too! Awww! Brian's not all bad! Love, Betsy:)
