Aside from Melanie growing leaps and bounds, I figured I should document some other things I've noticed about her:
Melanie’s long! I don't know how long, exactly, but she's longer than the length of my arms. When Melanie's feeding, sometimes she curls & uncurls and curls her toes into my arms. It's the cutest thing, and she probably doesn't even realize she's doing it. She must be so content!
Melanie’s chunking up – cheeks and thighs are filling out nicely! She's got the cutest double chin that's almost always present. Gramie Linda thinks she's at least 15 pounds by now.
When Melanie wakes up, or wants something (most of the time, just to be held) she gives off a warning cry. It's a cute little burst of a yell, lasting about 2 seconds. It sounds like, "Eh-ah!" And shockingly enough, that's all it takes to wake me up at 3:00 in the morning nowadays.
Melanie is still very much a wiggler, especially after she's gotten a clean diaper and she knows she's about to eat. Now she's getting her arms into it too, so she's kicking and punching. Hmmm... I wonder if she's into the Castle music...
When she's being burped, Melanie sometimes stands straight up on my lap, leaning into me, of course. Which I find hilarous since she still doesn't have complete control of her neck yet, but she's trying to stand!
Melanie's eyes are still a grayish-blue and I'm starting to wonder if they're going to stay that way. If they do stay brown, Wil will still be the only grandchild with brown eyes. Her hair did recede a little, but now it looks like she's growing back some brown fuzz.

As you can see I forget to get into this Blog and when I do there is so much I miss each time you make a post and then have a lot to catch up with..
ReplyDeleteIn the past few days I have notice Melanie's eyes being very dark blue and the past couple days when I burp her she is starting to lift her head up, I call her little turtle neck, and when she's sticking out her tongue while I am changing her diaper I tell her she has a little lizard tongue.. After I change her she starting to lie in her crib a little bit and amused herself. I play all kinds of music toys that while they are playing she is hearing and learning all kinds of stuff. People may believe babies don't learn at this age, but babies learn everyday from what we teach them..
