Melanie's Pacifier

At night, we let Melanie take a pacifier to bed. In fact, we usually have a couple lying about her crib just in case.
In the morning, when I pick her up from the crib, I take the pacy out of her mouth, drop the pacy in her crib and tell her, "We're going to leave it here so we know where it's at." Every morning I do this, and its become easier and easier for her to give up her pacy.
This morning, I let her enjoy it a little while longer - while I changed her diaper and got her dressed. But we weren't going to let her have that pacifier all day. So I walked to the crib and said, "Let's leave the pacy in the crib so we know where it's at for next time."
And lo and behold, she took the pacifier out of her mouth herself and dropped it in the crib!

Every day is a blessing and a new discovery of how much my daughter is growing and learning!

Our Vicious Dog

Lap Daughter

Lately Melanie's been wanting to sit in a person's lap to play. She grabs up to three different items, which can be a bit crowded when sitting in the lazy-boy, but as long as she has the toys/teddybears/etc to play with, she'll be content to play in a lap. If you read to her, even better! She's such a sweetie-pie!
