Melanie's Going to Be a Big Sister!

Yup, you heard us right! We recently discovered that we're expecting another bundle of joy. The new addition to the family will make his/her debut around April 12, 2012. We've nicknamed this little miracle "Rocky" until we determine the sex & come up with an official name.
If Rocky is a boy or a girl, we'll be happy either way. Our only request is that the baby is as sweet and healthy as Melanie is. And if God could throw in a little red hair, we'd be estatic!

Bedtime Negotiations

Lately Melanie's been resistant to being put to bed. She's tired, I know she's tired, she knows I know she's tired, but she still fights it. So after rocking her while singing her lullaby, I've been talking to her to prepare her for the descent into the crib. And it's cute that she communicates to me in her own special way as she's laying limply in my arms.

"Okay Melanie, time to go to bed." *whimper*
"Are you ready to go to sleep?" *shakes head*
"Of course you are! You're tired, aren't you?" *whimper*
"So let's go to sleep." *shakes head*
"Don't you like to sleep?" *small whimper*
"And when you wake up, I'll be here!" *nods head*
"And then we can have a whole day together. Won't that be fun?" *nods head*
"So let's go to bed." *shakes head*
